Yoda’s Dagobah hut
The other day I was driving and I went past a tree stump, and on top there was a small piece that had been missed or was re growing or something. I was going kind of fast and it caught my eye for a short period. Either way, it was very similar looking to Yoda’s Dagobah hut. I asked my 8 year old, who happens to be a bit of a Star Wars and Minecraft nut, how do you think Yoda made his tree stump hut? He effortlessly answered he probably carved it.
So I asked well what would he have carved it with. Then he went on a 10 minute tirade of how he would have cut the doors and windows with his lightsaber and probably the rest of it with his lightsaber. Then I was thinking to myself did Yoda even have his light saber when he launched for the planet? So then I asked my son if he thought maybe he used the force for some of it. He may have used the force to hallow out the stump and then to carve and design his fixtures and furniture. He would have only had what light tools would have been in an escape pod. So I think he would have had to use his saber or the force to work everything.
Now on Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki, it states the Yoda used pcs from the escape pod to build and cut portions of his hut, then he used mud to cover and camouflage his hut. It also said that he tempered spare pcs to make a pot and a sink. I always thought that his hut was a stump, maybe he just used the trunk as the base to better camouflage his little hideout. It does explain were his vessel went to, I thought he buried it in the mud or something. Either way I think the construction would have been more Yoda using the force to shape and put things together, I don’t believe he would have manually labored to do most of the work on his hut.
All in all I think Yoda did a pretty good job with what he had to work with. Probably would have made it far on one of those survival shows LOL.
